Learning and Research Centre
Trinity Hospice & Palliative Care Service is committed to learning and self development of all our employees and volunteers. We are innovative and flexible in our approach to learning, encouraging continuous self development.
There is an extensive and varied programme of in-service teaching available to clinical and non clinical staff. The agenda is determined by training needs highlighted at staff appraisals, volunteer reviews as well as addressing issues raised on an ad hoc basis.
Learning and development has always been an important part of the service Trinity provides; we have good links with a number of local universities, providing post graduate and postgraduate training opportunities for a large number of health and social care professionals. A key aspect of the centre’s work is to share our specialist knowledge and skills with other groups in the community and hospital.
Trinity continues to invest in succession planning by providing learning placements for medical, nursing and other students and specialist trainees. As a teaching hospice, we welcome students and clinicians on placement. Elective placements are available to a range of health, spiritual and psycho-social care students and other professionals in the clinical and non-clinical setting.
Trinity is a research active hospice and works with local and national research networks, taking part in projects that attempt to benefit patients directly.

We offer a friendly welcome and flexible approach to all events. Many businesses, organisations and groups from both the public and private sector have enjoyed the professional service offered by the Learning & Research staff.
We have an excellent fully equipped conference suite, (with disabled access). Seating is flexible and arranged to suit the events. There is ample free parking with CCTV. We can provide in house catering and have carious menus available which include catering for special diets.
