Our Day Therapy Unit is a place where patients with life limiting/life threatening illnesses who live in their own homes, either alone or with others, can find mutual support and meet other people with similar illnesses in a comfortable, safe and caring environment. We aim to help them gain confidence and help them to overcome the social isolation they may feel.
Working together with patients and families we seek to create a place where patients feel safe to enable them able to express any fears and worries. While we focus on the quality of life in an atmosphere of warmth, comfort, loving care and safety while promoting physical, psychological and spiritual well being.
With our medical team we support patients with effective symptom control that enables them to live as independently as they are able.
Although our Day Hospice is attached to Trinity Hospice it has it’s own entrance and it’s own facilities.

Our team consists of health care professionals including nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapist, lymphoedema nurses, chaplains, complementary therapists and a craft co-ordinator. Our team would be incomplete without our wonderful band of volunteers who play a vital role in our work. They are drivers, hairdressers, manicurist and supporting in many other activities.
Our day hospice provides a change of environment for the patients which is refreshing and patients look forward to their day with us as do their carers who know their relative is safe and well cared for. This gives them a day to cater for their own personal needs.
Although we only have 15 patients per day Monday to Friday we feel this enables us to give a more personal service at a pace that suits the patients.
We have a carers support group which meets monthly but we are always available to see carers anytime.
